Multiple mechanisms for enhanced plasmodesmata density in disparate subtypes of C-4 grasses
Published 2018“…Overall, PD density per M-BS cell interface was greatest in NAD-ME species while PD density in PCK species exhibited the largest variability. Finally, the only other anatomical characteristic that clearly distinguished C4 from C3 species was their greater Sb value, the BS surface area to subtending leaf area ratio. …”

Recurrent selection breeding by dominant male sterility for multiple abiotic stresses tolerant rice cultivars
Published 2017“…After two cycles of recurrent selection through natural outcrossing, the seeds from male fertile progeny plants were screened for higher grain yield under normal irrigated, drought, and salt-stressed natural field conditions. Finally, we identified 11 promising high-yielding lines under irrigated conditions, 12 drought-tolerant and 12 salt-tolerant lines. …”

Variability and synchronism of leaf appearance and leaf elongation rates of eleven contrasting rice genotypes
Published 2015“…Maximal leaf elongation rate (LER) of all genotypes (except for one) increased linearly with leaf rank until it reached its maximum value at leaf 8 to 10 (11 - 12 for Azucena) where it stabilized before decreasing linearly with leaf rank for the last leaves. Finally, both rates of leaf appearance and leaf elongation evolved with time more smoothly than expected so no sharp decrease in LER occurred at the time of the decrease in leaf appearance rate of the last leaves. …”

Trust, hope, and collective action in fragile political settings: a qualitative comparative analysis of water user groups in Tunisia
Published 2025“…Specifically we find that: (1) social cohesion and the expectation that other water users stick to local, often informal, rules were found to increase collective action, i.e. fee recovery, under systemic fragility; (2) resource scarcity, i.e. aquifer depletion, can serve as a driver of both conflict as well as cooperation, depending on conjoint social-ecological interactions; and, finally, (3) conflict is more frequently associated with low-hope environments, where users are unable to perceive the possibility of positive system change. …”

An eco‑epidemiological model for malaria with Microsporidia MB as bio‑control agent
Published 2025“…The predicted prevalence of MB-infected mosquitoes using transmission rates reported from lab experiments align with the observed low prevalence of MB-infected mosquitoes in the field, thereby validating our model and results. Finally, predictions indicate that increasing MB mosquito infection could effectively control malaria, with target prevalence varying by region: 15% in Highland, 40% on the coast, and 70% in the Lake region. …”

2024 Learning and Optimization Report
Published 2025“…The review identified priority recommendations across five L&O pillars to deliver on these priorities: • Conceptual aspects – Finalize revisions to the Results Framework to ensure coherent, measurable outcomes and impacts aligned with CGIAR’s 2030 targets. • Processes – Adjust timelines for greater flexibility, improve interoperability between the Performance and Results Management System (PRMS) and Program tools, clarify roles and responsibilities (especially with the integration of Window 3 [W3]/bilateral projects), and integrate quality assurance (QA) earlier in the cycle to strengthen transparency and reliability. • Systems – Advance PRMS v2 as a cohesive, user-centered platform, scale up artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to reduce reporting effort and enhance QA processes. • Capacity – Expand training and peer-learning opportunities, strengthen organizational support and engagement with Centers, and build skills for PRMS v2, AI tools, and adaptive management. • Products/Outputs – Improve report usability and readability, enhance trend analysis and Portfolio comparisons, integrate return on investment (ROI) analyses and impact/results stories, and pilot AI-generated report drafts and summaries to reduce effort and better tailor outputs to decision-makers. …”
