Phased, chromosome-scale genome assemblies of tetraploid potato reveals a complex genome, transcriptome, and predicted proteome landscape underpinning genetic diversity
Published 2022“…The StCDF1 locus controls maturity and analysis of six tetraploid genomes revealed 12 allelic variants correlated with maturity in a dosage dependent manner. Knowledge of the complexity of the tetraploid potato genome with its rampant structural variation and embedded deleterious and dysfunctional alleles will be key not only to implementing precision breeding of tetraploid cultivars but also to the construction of homozygous, diploid potato germplasm containing favorable alleles to capitalize on heterosis in F1 hybrids.…”

Restoring the commons: a gendered analysis of customary water tenure in Sub-Saharan Africa
Published 2023“…Extensive literature review suggests four gendered domains: first, water needs and uses; second, strategies to meet those needs by directly accessing water sources, and, with increasing wealth by investing individually or collectively in water infrastructure for self-supply, creating infrastructure-related ‘commons’ in the case of collective systems; third, at community scale, the ‘sharing in’ of communities’ naturally available water resources that flow into infrastructure; and, fourth, ‘sharing out’ of those resources with neighbouring communities but also powerful third parties of foreign and national high impact users. …”

PROGRESS REPORT: Developing Data‑Driven Agronomic Recommendations for Site‑Specific Nutrient Management on Rice in Cambodia
Published 2025“…Reverse and forward -QUEFTS, together with -gradient boosting and random forest models, reproduce observed yields with moderate to good predictive skill and provide -apparent soil N, P, and K supply estimates that can be mapped across the rice domain. These maps show uniformly low P, moderate but heterogeneous N, and high, highly variable K, providing clear evidence for a transition from current fertilizer recommendation toward site- and season--specific nutrient management.- These are explicitly treated as preliminary, pending refinement through incorporation of additional datasets and model re calibration.…”

Extravascular foci of Trypanosoma vivax in goats. The central nervous system and aqueous humor of the eye as potential sources of relapse infections after chemotherapy
Published 1988“…Relapse of parasitaemia after drug treatment of trypanosome infections is normally attributed to drug-resistance on the part of the parasite, under-dosage of the drug or reinfection of the host. In addition, inaccessibility of parasites to drug through sequestration in privileged extravascular sites has been shown in the past to occur withTrypanosoma brucei, and we have obtained evidence that extravascular foci ofT. vivaxcan also serve as a source of relapsing infections. …”
