Prediction of photosynthetic, biophysical, and biochemical traits in wheat canopies to reduce the phenotyping bottleneck
Published 2022“…To achieve food security, it is necessary to increase crop radiation use efficiency (RUE) and yield through the enhancement of canopy photosynthesis to increase the availability of assimilates for the grain, but its study in the field is constrained by low throughput and the lack of integrative measurements at canopy level. …”

Current approaches to resilience programming among nongovernmental organizations
Published 2014“…This is followed by a review of the wide range of strategies and interventions employed by NGOs to build resilience capacity. The paper then presents several case studies that highlight NGO efforts to enhance resilience either by focusing on a specific vulnerable population and shock or by integrating, sequencing, and layering activities to support and protect core programming goals (for example, food and nutrition security, poverty reduction) while contributing overall to enhanced resilience capacity. …”

Paving the way for nationally appropriate mitigation actions in the agricultural sector
Published 2012“…Key messages - Nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs) in the agricultural sector can be elements in the pathway to food security, green growth and sustainable development. - NAMAs can provide additional resources for climate-smart agriculture, where multiple benefits, including adaptation benefits, are generated alongside mitigation. - Mitigation and adaptation are often inseparable and complementary in meeting multiple goals. - NAMAs and national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs) could be aligned to maximize synergies and co- benefits. - Land-based mitigation and adaptation measures should be integrated for implementation at subnational levels. - NAMAs require a proactive approach by developing countries and should build on existing planning processes, tools, and technologies. - The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) should encourage and enable a country-driven process for mitigation in agriculture. …”

The Livestock Sub-sector in Kenya’s NDC: A scoping of gaps and priorities
Published 2020“…The majority of non-dairy cattle and small ruminants are raised in the arid and semi-arid areas, where adaptation to climate change and food security are national priorities. Livestock sub-sector contributions to enhanced NDC: NDCs can be enhanced on the basis of a stocking taking of trends, policies and measures, and actions of sub-national and non-state actors in the sector; by updating assumptions and analysis; by ensuring alignment of the NDC with sector development objectives; by ensuring complete coverage of sectors and sub-sectors; and by ensuring that adaptation priorities, policies and plans are appropriately reflected. …”
