  4. Innovations for plant production in the risky environment of semiarid Niger: a multilevel modeling assessment por Abele, S.

    Publicado 2004
“…For these farmers, low-input mineral fertiliser technologies have been developed in the nineties in order to increase the productivity of their millet farming systems. As economic assessment cannot be restricted to plot or farm assessment alone but has to take into account also markets and marketing patterns, a sequence of models has been applied: On plot level, production functions of intercropping systems were estimated, in order to determine yields and their variability of the major crops. …”

  5. QTLs associated with resistance to the cassava mosaic disease: new directions for a diverse planet por Lokko, Y., Gedil, Melaku A, Dixon, A.

    Publicado 2004
“…The Kruskal Wallis analysis further detected four highly significant marker-associated QTL effects. Significant marker trait associations were due to markers donated by both parents, which confirms the polygenic and recessive nature of this source of resistance.…”

  7. Relief seed assistance in Zimbabwe por Bramel-Cox, P.J., Remington, T., Nagoda, S., Haugen, J., Sperling, L.

    Publicado 2004
“…While these interventions are being modified to better address the needs of farmers recovering from disaster, they are still based upon the premise that the emergency has resulted in a loss of seed and other assets, and there is a need to supply them. This study of relief seed intervention in Zimbabwe addresses a number of issues: (1) the effectiveness of the past agricultural recovery response to disasters, (2) knowlegde of farmers' seed systems, (3) changes in seed systems as influenced by relief seed distributions, and (4) the cause of the continual need for seed assistance.…”
