Modified BEAM rubber agroforestry models: RRYIELD and RRECON
Publicado 1998“…It focuses on the changes in output (latex, wood and intercropped annual and perennial crops) in response to a number of bioclimatic, topographic and silvicultural variables. Outputs are measured annually over the life of the plantation. …”

A simple method to account for topography in the radiometric correction of radar imagery
Publicado 2000“…The method is applied to high-resolution C-SAR subsets of an agricultural area in the Central Cordillera of Costa Rica. The removal of topographic features appears excellent for local incident angles up to 80 degrees, but small-scale structures have pronounced effects on the radar return for higher local incident angles and are not adequately corrected.…”

Effect of conventional bridges on deer-vehicle accidents
Publicado 2012“…I used official accident data from roads for 2008-2010 and from railways for 2001-2010, data on bridges and infrastructure together with digital topographic information, and estimates of regional abundances of moose (Alces alces) and roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) to develop generalized linear models of the parameters influencing the occurrence of deer-vehicle collisions. …”

Species distribution models: ecological explanation and prediction of an endemic and endangered plant species (Pterocarpus santalinus L.f.).
Publicado 2012“…To understand its ecological and geographic distribution, we used ecological niche modelling (ENM) based on field sample-based distributional information, in relation to climatic and topographic datasets. Before modelling, hierarchical partitioning was used to optimize the choice of variables for better prediction and reliability. …”

Multicriteria evaluation and remote sensing approach to identifying degraded soil areas in northwest Peru
Publicado 2024“…Nine factors were analyzed classified three categories: environmental, topographic, and edaphological factors. The results revealed that the slope (59.07%) was the main influencing factor, followed by land use and land cover (LULC) (56.36%). …”

Digging, damming or diverting?: small-scale irrigation in the Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopia
Publicado 2012“…The diversity of irrigation infrastructure is partly a consequence of the topographic heterogeneity of the Fogera plains. Despite similar social-political conditions and the same administrative framework, irrigation facilities are established, used and managed differently, ranging from informal arrangements of households and 'water fathers' to water user associations, as well as from open access to irrigation schedules. …”

Estimating pond storage capacity using remote sensing and GIS: A case study in Zhanghe irrigation scheme, southern China
Publicado 2007“…One is to estimate pond storage capacity as a function of the topographic factors. An indicator, PV, pond storage capacity per unit rice area of 86 villages, is calculated, and then the correlation between PV, slope, altitude and drainage density is calculated to estimate the pond storage capacity of whole study area. …”

Differentiated Neogene bauxitization of volcanic rocks (western Cameroon): morpho-geological constraints on chemical erosion
Publicado 2020“…Our results document that chemical weathering of a larger thickness of trachyte than basalt has been required to form a unit meter of weathering profile, implying differential rates of rock chemical erosion and topographic decay of landscapes. Rates of chemical erosion and formation of lateritic weathering profiles in western Cameroon have been mostly controlled by drainage conditions and volcanic rocks composition (mostly SiO2 content differences), that also resulted in contrasted landscapes evolution during the Neogene.…”
