The importance of indigenous peoples’ lands for the conservation of terrestrial mammals
Publicado 2021“…We also found that 935 mammal species (131 categorized as threatened) had ≥ 10% of their range on Indigenous Peoples’ lands that had low human pressure. Our results show how important Indigenous Peoples’ lands are to the successful implementation of conservation and sustainable development agendas worldwide.…”

Assessing the impacts of watershed interventions using ground data and remote sensing: a case study in Ethiopia
Publicado 2022“…These results not only indicate that watershed-level interventions improve on-site soil and water environmental services but also underline the role of community managed land-use regulations in reducing pressure on natural land-use systems and thereby serve the major goal of up-scaling sustainable land management.…”

Susceptibility of cassava varieties to disease caused by Sri Lankan cassava mosaic virus and impacts on yield by use of asymptomatic and virus-free planting material
Publicado 2022“…Field experiments evaluated agronomic management practices (ie, fertilizer application, use of symptomatic and asymptomatic seed stakes) in Cambodia with six to nine popular varieties over three seasons under natural disease pressure. Popular cassava varieties KU50 and Huaybong60 showed superior CMD tolerance, with consistently fewer symptomatic plants, lower disease progress measures, and higher yields. …”

Climate-smart crop production in semi-arid areas through increased knowledge of varieties, environment and management factors
Publicado 2016“…In large regions of sub-Saharan Africa, semi-arid conditions are likely to increase with climate change, yet these regions are becoming more important to feed production zones due to increasing population pressure. A production system in the semi-arid south eastern Zimbabwe was studied to assess different possible growth conditions of food crop in relation to seasonal differences, spatial rainfall distribution, use of organic nutrients and different position in the landscape. …”
