  1. Mapping Genetic Diversity of Cherimoya (Annona cherimola Mill.): Application of Spatial Analysis for Conservation and Use of Plant Genetic Resources por Van Zonneveld, Maarten J., Scheldeman, Xavier, Escribano, Pilar, Viruel, María A., Van Damme, Patrick, García, Willman, Tapia, César, Romero, José, Sigüeñas Saavedra, Segundo Manuel, Hormaza, José I.

    Publicado 2021
“…This paper explores the possibilities of incorporating molecular marker data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to allow visualization and better understanding of spatial patterns of genetic diversity as a key input to optimize conservation and use of plant genetic resources, based on a case study of cherimoya (Annona cherimola Mill.), a Neotropical fruit tree species. We present spatial analyses to (1) improve the understanding of spatial distribution of genetic diversity of cherimoya natural stands and cultivated trees in Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru based on microsatellite molecular markers (SSRs); and (2) formulate optimal conservation strategies by revealing priority areas for in situ conservation, and identifying existing diversity gaps in ex situ collections. …”

  2. Discrimination by Ganaspis pelleranoi of Ceratitis capitata larvae previously parasitised by Diachasmimorpha longicaudata por Buonocore Biancheri, María Josefina, Suárez, Lorena del Carmen, Kirschbaum, Daniel Santiago, Ovruski Alderete, Sergio Marcelo

    Publicado 2022
“…Heterospecific and conspecific host discrimination, and super- and multiparasitism by the neotropical figitid Ganaspis pelleranoi were determined using 6-d-old Ceratitis capitata larvae in choice trials, where alternatives such as hosts previously parasitised by the exotic braconid Diachasmimorpha longicaudata, or by conspecific G. pelleranoi, and/or unparasitised hosts were available. …”

  5. First records of pigmentation anomalies in the marsh deer at its southernmost stronghold: a warning message? por Pereira, Javier Adolfo, Wolfenson, Laura I., Artero, Diego F., Argerich, Esteban C., Varela, Diego, Fracassi, Natalia

    Publicado 2023
“…Pigmentation anomalies (e.g., albinism, leucism) in Neotropical mammals are considered rare. Identifying the spatiotemporal distribution and prevalence of pigmentation anomalies is important to better assess the evolutionary basis of color variation. …”

  6. Ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) inhabiting anthropogenic habitats in the lower delta of the Paraná river, Argentina: geographic distribution and ecological characteristics por Nanni, Analía Soledad, Quintana, Ruben Dario, Fracassi, Natalia, Cicchino, Armando Conrado

    Publicado 2018
“…The primary aims of this paper were to provide the first inventory of carabid beetles collected in five different anthropogenic habitat types of the Lower Delta of the Paraná River, to describe their main ecological characteristics and to provide information on their distribution range in ecoregions, subregions and ecosystem complexes of Argentina and across the Neotropical region. Species were grouped according to six classes of distributions in relation to their presence in the Delta of the Paraná River. …”

  8. A morphological and phylogenetic analysis of Ornithodoros marinkellei (Acari: Argasidae), with additional notes on habitat and host usage por Venzal, José Manuel, Nava, Santiago, Hernández, Ligia V., Miranda, Jorge, Marcili, Arlei, Labruna, Marcelo B.

    Publicado 2019
“…Phylogenetic analysis inferred from the mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene showed ticks from Colombia and Nicaragua more genetically related than any of them with ticks from Brazil, although ticks from the three countries grouped in a clade sister to a major clade containing sequences of various Neotropical Ornithodoros species. We concluded that ticks identified as O. marinkellei from Colombia, Nicaragua, and Brazil represent the same taxon, and that the genetic and morphological differences between them are likely to have a geographical bias. …”

Description of a new species of Ixodes (Acari: Ixodidae) and first report of Ixodes lasallei and Ixodes bocatorensis in Brazil por Onofrio, Valeria C., Guglielmone, Alberto, Barros Battesti, Darci M., Gianizella, Sergio L., Marcili, Arlei, Quadros, Rosiléia M., Marques, Sandro, Labruna, Marcelo B.

    Publicado 2020
“…Phylogenetic analysis inferred from the tick 16S rRNA gene partial sequences corroborated our morphological analysis, indicating that I. spinosus, I. lasallei, I. bocatorensis, and I. catarinensis n. sp. form a natural group of neotropical ticks. With the present study, the number of Ixodes species in Brazil increases from 9 to 12. …”
