  1. Forest degradation and inter-annual tree level Brazil Nut production in the Peruvian Amazon por Jensen, M., Guariguata, Manuel R., Chiriboga-Arroyo, Fidel, Quaedvlieg, J., Vargas Quispe, F.M., Arroyo Quispe, E., García Roca, M.R., Corvera Gomringer, Ronald, Kettle, Christopher J.

    Publicado 2021
“…Our results show that forest degradation can affect Brazil nut fruit production, and suggest that the strength (and possibly the sign) of this effect might be different in (extreme) El Niño years. This illustrates the potential importance of restoring degraded forest to enhance resilience and protect the livelihoods of people depending on the Brazil nut trade.…”

  2. Estimation of maize foliar temperature and stomatal conductance as indicators of water stress based on optical and thermal imagery acquired using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) p... por Brewer, K., Clulow, A.D., Sibanda, M., Gokool, S., Odindi, J., Mutanga, O., Naiken, V., Chimonyo, Vimbayi Grace Petrova, Mabhaudhi, Tafadzwanashe

    Publicado 2022
“…Considering these developments, we evaluated the utility of optical and thermal infrared UAV imagery, in combination with a random forest machine-learning algorithm, to estimate the maize foliar temperature and stomatal conductance as indicators of potential crop water stress and moisture content over the entire phenological cycle. The results illustrated that the thermal infrared waveband was the most influential variable during vegetative growth stages, whereas the red-edge and near-infrared derived vegetation indices were fundamental during the reproductive growth stages for both temperature and stomatal conductance. …”
