  5. Effect of Saponins from Chenopodium quinoa Willd. on Methane Production, Short Chain Fatty Acids and Digestibility in vitro Ruminal Fermentation por Alegría Arnedo, Maria Cecilia, Gomez Bravo, Carlos Alfredo, Quispe Jacobo, Fredy Enrique

    Publicado 2025
“…The saponin extracts obtained from three quinoa varieties were Altiplano (AS), Quillahuaman (QS), and Salcedo (SS), and were tested at six different doses (0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0mg/mL) each. Rumen fluid was obtained from two fistulated Junín breed sheep, with alfalfa hay (AH) and a 1:1 mixture of maize and bran (MB) was used as basal substrates. …”

    Publicado 2017
“…The used concentration was based on a previous study where PFNA was measured in follicle fluid of women (0.4 (0.2-2.1) ng/ml). A margin of safety and the short time of exposure in this study are the reasons for the raised concentration compared to the measured values in the follicle fluid. …”

  11. Efficacy of bentonite and fumonisin esterase in mitigating the effects of aflatoxins and fumonisins in two Kenyan cattle breeds por Kemboi, D., Antonissen, G., Ochieng, P., Croubels, S., Baere, S. de, Scippo, M.-L., Okoth, Sheila A., Kang'ethe, Erastus K., Faas, J., Doupovec, B., Lindahl, Johanna F., Gathumbi, J.

    Publicado 2023
“…No significant change was observed in the sphinganine/sphingosine (Sa/So) ratio following feeding with FUM alone or in combination with fumonisin esterase; however, the ability of fumonisin esterase to hydrolyze FUM into less toxic fully hydrolyzed FUM and partially hydrolyzed FUM was evident in the rumen fluid and feces. These results indicate bentonite was effective in decreasing AFM1 concentration in milk, and AFB1 and AFM1 in plasma, while fumonisin esterase can convert FUM into less toxic metabolites and can be a suitable addition to feed cocontaminated with AFB1 and FUM.…”
