In Silico Survey and Characterization of Babesia microti Functional and Non-Functional Proteases
Publicado 2022“…Comparative studies between the repertoire of B. bovis and B. microti proteases revealed differences among sensu stricto and sensu lato Babesia parasites that reflect their distinct evolutionary history. Overall, this data may help direct future research towards our understanding of the biology and pathogenicity of Babesia parasites and to explore proteases as targets for developing novel therapeutic interventions.…”

Epidemiological data of an influenza A/H5N1 outbreak in elephant seals in Argentina indicates mammal-to-mammal transmission
Publicado 2024“…We reflect that H5N1 viruses becoming more evolutionary flexible and adapting to mammals in new ways could have global consequences for wildlife, humans, and/or livestock.…”

Genetic Diversity in Phytoplasmas from X-Disease Group Based in Analysis of idpA and imp Genes
Publicado 2025“…Through molecular characterization of imp and idpA genes in 16SrIII subgroups, we identified significant genetic diversity and distinct evolutionary pressures. The imp gene, under positive selection, showed high variability in its hydrophilic extracellular domain, suggesting adaptation to host immune responses. …”

Recent advances in BLV research
Publicado 2019“…In this perspective, bovine leukemia virus (BLV), another member of the deltaretrovirus genus, is evolutionary related to HTLV-1. BLV induces lymphoproliferative disorders in ruminants providing useful information on the mechanisms of viral persistence, genetic determinants of pathogenesis and potential novel therapies.…”

Spontaneous Mutations in the Nitrate Reductase Gene napC Drive the Emergence of Eco-friendly Low-N2O-Emitting Alfalfa Rhizobia in Regions with Different Climates
Publicado 2020“…To understand the genetic basis of this novel eco-friendly phenotype, we sequenced and analyzed the genomes of these strains, focusing on their denitrification genes, and found mutations only in the nitrate reductase structural gene napC. The evolutionary analysis supported that, in these natural strains, the denitrification genes were inherited by vertical transfer and that their defective nitrate reductase napC alleles emerged by independent spontaneous mutations. …”

Gene expression, phylogenetic and syntenic analyses of pantophysin (Pan I) and synaptophysin-like2 (Sypl2) genes in Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua L.)
Publicado 2012“…We applied several different approaches to investigate evolutionary history and spatio-temporal expression patterns of Pan I and synaptophysin-like2 (Sypl2) gene in Atlantic cod. ln silico analyses identified pantophysin, synaptophysin and synaptophysin-like genes in various vertebrates, including Atlantic cod. …”

Fourth Report on Chicken Genes and Chromosomes 2022
Publicado 2023“…Ongoing cytogenetic work also allows for examination of chromosomes, specific elements within chromosomes, and the evolutionary history and comparison of karyotypes. We also examine chicken research efforts with a much more “global” outlook with a greater impact on food security and the impact of climate change, and highlight the efforts of international consortia, such as the Chicken Diversity Consortium. …”
