  2. In Silico Survey and Characterization of Babesia microti Functional and Non-Functional Proteases por Florin-Christensen, Monica, Wieser, Sara Nathaly, Suarez, Carlos E., Schnittger, Leonhard

    Publicado 2022
“…Comparative studies between the repertoire of B. bovis and B. microti proteases revealed differences among sensu stricto and sensu lato Babesia parasites that reflect their distinct evolutionary history. Overall, this data may help direct future research towards our understanding of the biology and pathogenicity of Babesia parasites and to explore proteases as targets for developing novel therapeutic interventions.…”

  3. Genetic Diversity in Phytoplasmas from X-Disease Group Based in Analysis of idpA and imp Genes por Alessio, Florencia Ivette, Bongiorno, Vanina Aylén, Marcone, Carmine, Conci, Luis Rogelio, Fernandez, Franco Daniel

    Publicado 2025
“…Through molecular characterization of imp and idpA genes in 16SrIII subgroups, we identified significant genetic diversity and distinct evolutionary pressures. The imp gene, under positive selection, showed high variability in its hydrophilic extracellular domain, suggesting adaptation to host immune responses. …”

    Publicado 2019
“…In this perspective, bovine leukemia virus (BLV), another member of the deltaretrovirus genus, is evolutionary related to HTLV-1. BLV induces lymphoproliferative disorders in ruminants providing useful information on the mechanisms of viral persistence, genetic determinants of pathogenesis and potential novel therapies.…”

  6. Spontaneous Mutations in the Nitrate Reductase Gene napC Drive the Emergence of Eco-friendly Low-N2O-Emitting Alfalfa Rhizobia in Regions with Different Climates por Brambilla, Silvina Maricel, Soto, Gabriela, Odorizzi, Ariel, Arolfo, Valeria, McCormick, Wayne, Primo, Emiliano, Giordano, Walter, Jozefkowicz, Cintia, Ayub, Nicolás Daniel

    Publicado 2020
“…To understand the genetic basis of this novel eco-friendly phenotype, we sequenced and analyzed the genomes of these strains, focusing on their denitrification genes, and found mutations only in the nitrate reductase structural gene napC. The evolutionary analysis supported that, in these natural strains, the denitrification genes were inherited by vertical transfer and that their defective nitrate reductase napC alleles emerged by independent spontaneous mutations. …”

  7. Gene expression, phylogenetic and syntenic analyses of pantophysin (Pan I) and synaptophysin-like2 (Sypl2) genes in Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua L.) por Stjelja, Suzana

    Publicado 2012
“…We applied several different approaches to investigate evolutionary history and spatio-temporal expression patterns of Pan I and synaptophysin-like2 (Sypl2) gene in Atlantic cod. ln silico analyses identified pantophysin, synaptophysin and synaptophysin-like genes in various vertebrates, including Atlantic cod. …”
