Isozyme analysis and its application in plant breeding
Publicado 1992“…Plant breeders face the difficult task of having to select for traits that are often under complex genetic control and subject to edapho-climatic influences. Electrophoresis of protein extracts from plant tissue, using different kinds ofsupport media and buffer systems, allows separation of the multiple forms ofenzymes (isozymes) on the basis of charge and/or molecular size. …”

Genetics of two colonies of Glossina pallidipes originating from allopatric populations in Kenya
Publicado 1994“…Abstract Two large colonies, originating from allopatric populations of Glossina pallidipes Austen, in the Shimba Hills and Nguruman, Kenya, which differ biologically and with respect to vectorial competence, were compared at fourteen enzyme loci using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The colonies had similar levels of genetic diversity with approximately half of the loci being polymorphic, an average of 1.6‐1.7 alleles per locus, and a mean heterozygosity per locus of approximately 18.4%. …”

Application of septenary multiplex PCR detection for some animal components in sheep and goat meat products
Publicado 2010“…The results showed that routine agarose gel electrophoresis was sufficient to differentiate the multiplex PCR products ranging from 175 to 517 bp and differing by at least 41 bp each other, indicating that this septenary multiplex PCR method could be used for rapid and accurate identification of the seven species and for three species (cow, yak and goat) at sensitivity of 2.5 ng DNA. …”

Comparative Levels of Waxy Gene Product of Endosperm Starch Granules of Different Rice Ecotypes
Publicado 1989“…Starches of 40 rice varieties from different ecosystems and 2 amylose extender mutants were analyzed for their predominant waxy gene allele (Wxa or Wxb) through the amount of Wx gene product (60‐kdal polypeptide) by SDS‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Nonwaxy rices carrying the Wxa and Wxb alleles were clearly differentiated by two distinct regression equations correlating AC and the amount of Wx gene product. …”
