Phylogenetics and Evolution of Potato Virus V: Another Potyvirus that Originated in the Andes
Publicado 2022“…Although no temporal signal was directly detected among the dated nonrecombinant sequences, PVV and potato virus Y (PVY) are from the same potyvirus lineage and are ecologically similar, so “subtree dating” was done via a single maximum likelihood phylogeny of PVV and PVY sequences, and PVY’s well-supported 157 ce “time to most common recent ancestor” was extrapolated to date that of PVV as 29 bce. …”

From a documented past of the Jersey breed in Africa to a profit index linked future
Publicado 2022“…A key encompassing parameter of any reference was a well-described consideration of the Jersey cattle breed (as pure or crossbred with other exotic and/or indigenous breeds) with reported performance within a variety of production systems and agro-ecologies in Africa. The main focus was on breed and performance parameters, breed types, percentage of different breed types in specific environments, reproduction method and fertility; survival and longevity; disease incidence; and production efficiency metrics such as: feed efficiency (milk unit per dry matter intake, DMI) and milk yield (MY) per unit of body weight (BW). …”

Genetic gains in tropical maize hybrids across moisture regimes with multi-trait-based index selection
Publicado 2023“…Eleven genotypes were selected in each moisture condition through MGIDI by assuming 15% selection intensity where two hybrids, viz., ZH161289 and ZH161303, were found to be common across all the moisture regimes, indicating their moisture stress resilience, a unique potential for broader adaptation in rainfed stress-vulnerable ecologies. The selected hybrids showed desired genetic gains such as positive gains for grain yield (almost 11% in optimal and drought; 22% in waterlogging) and negative gains in flowering traits. …”

CGIAR Initiative on Agroecology: Technical report from the Kenya End-of-Initiative Results Dissemination Workshop
Publicado 2024“…Key drivers of these transitions include consumer behavior and market demand, climate change, health concerns, input costs, capacity building, and innovation, with the cost of ecological inputs identified as a primary factor. Additionally, the promotion of high-input industrial agriculture and the underutilization of organic resources called for incentivizing public and private investments in agroecological interventions. …”

Development and application of the GenoBaits WheatSNP16K array to accelerate wheat genetic research and breeding
Publicado 2025“…Principal component and neighbor-joining analyses using the called SNPs are consistent with the pedigree information and geographic distributions or ecological environments of the accessions. For the GBW16K marker panel, the average genetic diversity among the 239 accessions is 0.270, which is sufficient for linkage map construction and preliminary mapping of targeted genes or quantitative trait loci (QTLs). …”
