The Relationship Between Combined Nitrogen Uptakes and Nitrogen Fixation in Azolla-Anabaena Symbiosis
Publicado 1983“…After 4 days of incubation, about a half of the total nitrogen in Azolla comprised nitrogen newly incorporated from both the medium and atmosphere, and of this about 70 and 30% originated from ammonium and nitrate at 10 mM respectively. It is suggested that, even when Azolla is grown on a medium containing combined nitrogen, Anabaena in the leaf cavities still fixes atmospheric nitrogen and supplies it to the host plants, and that each nitrogen source is incorporated and translocated in a characteristic manner.…”

Evidence that abscisic acid mediates gene activation under dehydrating conditions in pearl millet
Publicado 2025“…Here, motifs in promoters of 68 sets of DEGs from publicly available 135 RNA-Seq data from unstressed and dehydrated leaves and roots were detected, which revealed that the majority of the sets of promoters of genes upregulated by such stresses contain abscisic acid (ABA) response elements. Genes potentially regulating ABA biosynthesis and signaling under such conditions were narrowed down by further analyzing the above data and newly obtained RNA-Seq data from ABA-treated plants and by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. …”

Using meristematic clumps as explants for long term conservation.
Publicado 2025“…However, with the recent development of a new type of explant, coconut meristematic clumps, resulting from a novel shoot micropropagation method, this type of explant could be used for the long term conservation via cryopreservation. Meristematic clumps contain multiple meristems per explants which increases the chance for survival after cryopreservation since each meristems on the explant has the potential to grow. …”
