  1. Livestock feed and fodder development in Uzbekistan por Hoek, Rein van der, Notenbaert, An Maria Omer

    Publicado 2023
“…For both farm types the environmental impacts and climate change mitigation potential of improved feed and forages were analysed using an ex-ante assessment tool (CLEANED) for two scenarios: the current situation “Business as Usual” (BAU) and a scenario with feed and forage options including silvopastoral systems with drought resistant and salt-tolerant legume shrubs/ trees, high-quality agro-industrial by-products such as cotton seed cake and on-farm forage production (legumes and cereal crops). Improved feed and forage options reduce environmental and climate impacts, decrease land, water and fertiliser requirements and increase biodiversity and resilience to climate change and weather shocks. …”

    Publicado 2023
“…Then, random forest algorithm was used to determine the weights of each component of the model by considering interannual fluctuations in cereal yields as an impact variable. The multivariate composite model was compared to the VHI, NVSWI and SPI-12 indices for validation. …”

    Publicado 2021
“…The wheat and high diversity pattern was least vulnerable to shocks, while the rice and low diversity pattern was the most vulnerable, relying mainly on single cereal staples. The diets showed “double vulnerability” where the nutrient inadequate patterns were also those most vulnerable to shocks.…”
