  1. Direct effect of ozone pollution on aphids: revisiting the evidence at individual and population scales por Telesnicki, Marta Cecilia, Martinez-Ghersa, Maria Alejandra, Arneodo Larochette, Joel Demian, Ghersa, Claudio Marco

    Publicado 2018
“…Most of our knowledge about the consequences of tropospheric ozone pollution on aphid–plant interaction assumes the absence of a direct effect of ozone on aphids. However, the biological effects of ozone encompass changes in reactive oxygen species signalling, oxidative stress accumulation, and the immune response of both plants and animals. …”

  2. Cover crops and integrated management reduce pesticide residues in soils and water: Pathways towards cleaner production in Argentine agricultura por Aparicio, Virginia Carolina, Rizzalli, Roberto Héctor, Panaggio, Nestor Hernan, Andrade, Fernando Hector, Costa, Jose Luis

    Publicado 2025
“…Clear contamination patterns were observed: (i) in soils, 33 % higher glyphosate concentrations at 0–2 cm depth were detected under conventional farmer practices, while accumulation of transformation products (aminomethylphosphonic acid, hydroxy-atrazine), consistent with enhanced biological degradation, was favoured by cover crops and integrated management; (ii) in leachate water, consistently higher atrazine and (2,4-dichlorophenoxy) acetic acid concentrations were found under conventional farmer practices, whereas no significant differences between systems were detected for glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid; (iii) in groundwater, mixtures of glyphosate, aminomethylphosphonic acid and atrazine were identified, indicating diffuse regional contamination not constrained by management. …”

Detection of bovine herpesvirus 2 and bovine herpesvirus 4 DNA in trigeminal ganglia of naturally infected cattle by polymerase chain reaction por Campos, Fabrício Souza, Franco, Ana Cláudia, Oliveira, Martha Trindade, Firpo, R.M., Strelczuk, G., Fontoura, F.E., Kulma, Marcos Iuri Roos, Maidana, Silvina Soledad, Romera, Sonia Alejandra, Spilki, Fernando, Silva, Alessandra D. Avila, Hübner, Sílvia De Oliveira, Roehe, Paulo Michel

    Publicado 2019
“…Establishment of latent infection within specific tissues in the host is a common biological feature of the herpesviruses. In the case of bovine herpesvirus 2 (BoHV-2), latency is established in neuronal tissues, while bovine herpesvirus 4 (BoHV-4) and ovine herpesvirus 2 (OvHV-2) latent virus targets on cells of the monocytic lineage. …”

    Publicado 2019
“…Bovine Anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale is a worldwide disease prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions where Rhipicephalus microplus is considered the most significant biological vector. Molecular markers previously applied for A. marginale typing are efficient for isolate discrimination but they are not a suitable tool for studying population structure and dynamics. …”

  8. Predicting male fertility in dairy cattle using markers with large effect and functional annotation data por Nani, Juan Pablo, Rezende, Fernanda M., Peñagaricano, Francisco

    Publicado 2019
“…Single-kernel models fitting functional SNP classes outperformed their counterparts using random sets of SNPs, suggesting that the predictive power of these functional variants is driven in part by their biological roles. Multi-kernel models fitting all the functional SNP classes together with the five major markers exhibited predictive correlations around 0.405. …”

    Publicado 2021
“…A test was needed as a supplement to the MCA13 monoclonal antibody test which could rapidly discriminate MCA13 reactive stem-pitting (SP) isolates from other MCA13 reactive, non-stem-pitting CTV isolates in field trees, and which also could replace or supplement biological indexing for stem-pitting symptoms. Three nucleic acid based and one serological technique were evaluated as diagnostic tools using isolates from the Florida and the USDAARS international CTV isolate collections that caused stem-pitting symptoms in citrus indicators. …”
