Characterization of a small variable surface glycoprotein from Trypanosoma vivax
Publicado 1996“…Examination of the deduced ILDat 2.1 VSG protein sequence reveals that it is most similar to T. congolense VSGs in the distribution of Cys residues and like the former it does not contain any of the defined VSG C-terminal domain types. However, unlike T. congolense VSGs it does not readily fit into the currently described VSG N-terminal domain types. …”

A 69-KDa immunodominant antigen of Trypanosoma (Nannomonas) congolense is homologous to immunoglobulin heavy chain binding protein (Bip)
Publicado 1994“…The 69 kDa trypanosome protein shares with other BiP-related molecules two characteristics that are associated with their localization in the endoplasmic reticulum and their function as chaperonins, i.e. a hydrophobic N-terminal signal sequence and a conserved C-terminal tetrapeptide (X)DEL. …”

A Rab1 homologue with a novel isoprenylation signal provides insight into the secretory pathway of Theileria parva
Publicado 1999“…The T. parva homologue of Rab1 (TpRab1), a protein which regulates vesicular transport between the endoplasmic reticulum and cis golgi in other organisms, was unusual in that it contained a unique 17 amino acid C-terminal extension. The C-terminal motifisequence KCT (XCX) contrasted with the CXC or XCC motifs which act as signals for isoprenylation by geranylgeranyl in most Rab proteins, including all known Rab1 homologues, in containing only a single cysteine, (C14) mevalonic acid lactone and (H3) geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate were specifically incorporated into recombinant TpRab1 in vitro, demonstrating that the novel motif was functional for isoprenylation. …”

Characterizing patterns of seasonal drought stress for use in common bean breeding in East Africa under present and future climates
Publicado 2023“…However, to optimize resource use in international breeding programs to develop genotypes that are resilient to future projected stress patterns, we argue that common bean breeding programs should focus primarily on identifying genotypes with tolerance to severe terminal drought, with co-benefits in relation to adaptation to moderate and extreme terminal drought. …”
