Present status of maize diseases in the humid forest and western highlands of Cameroon

A total of 260 farms in 36 villages, ranging from low altitudes with bimodal rainfall distribution to high altitudes with monomodal rainfall, were included in the surveys. ln the humidforest, Bipolaris maydis and Puccinio polysora were the prevalent fungi with a mean incidence of 70% in 1995 and 44% in 2004. …”

Agriculture, Nutrition, and Gender Linkages (ANGeL) Baseline Study
Publicado 2017“…Motivated by research-based evidence, IFPRI researchers developed a concept note to strengthen the agriculture-nutrition-gender nexus in Bangladesh and presented it to the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in June 2014. Based on the concept note, an inter-ministerial committee of the Government of Bangladesh approved a pilot research project entitled, “Orienting Agriculture Toward Improved Nutrition and Women’s Empowerment”, also known as “Agriculture, Nutrition, and Gender Linkages”(ANGeL), for implementation by the MOA, with technical assistance from IFPRI and Helen Keller International (HKI), and an evaluation led by IFPRI. …”

Combining ability of diverse maize inbred lines under Striga infestation in Nigeria and Benin
Publicado 2007“…The ten lines were crossed in a diallel fashion and the resulting 45 single-cross hybrids were evaluated under artificial striga infestation at two locations each in Nigeria and Republic of Benin for two years. The results showed that general combining ability (GCA) mean squares were much larger than those for specific combining ability (SCN for grain yield under Striga infestation, Striga damage symptom score, and numbers of emerged Striga plants, indicating that for these traits, additive genetic effects were more important than non-additive effects. …”
