  4. Genotyping-by-sequencing provides the discriminating power to investigate the subspecies of Daucus carota (Apiaceae) por Arbizu Berrocal, Carlos Irvin, Ellison, Shelby L., Senalik, Douglas, Simon, Philipp W., Spooner, David M.

    Publicado 2020
“…Conclusions: Our study suggests that (1) the morphotypes identified as D. carota subspecies gummifer (as currently broadly circumscribed), all confined to areas near the Atlantic Ocean and the western Mediterranean Sea, have separate origins from sympatric members of other subspecies of D. carota, (2) D. carota subsp. maximus, on two clades with some accessions of subsp. carota, can be distinguished from each other but only with poor morphological support, (3) D. carota subsp. capillifolius, well distinguished morphologically, is an apospecies relative to North African populations of D. carota subsp. carota, (4) the eastern cultivated carrots have origins closer to wild carrots from central Asia than to western cultivated carrots, and (5) large SNP data sets are suitable for species-level phylogenetic studies in Daucus…”

  6. Two novel flavi-like viruses shed light on the plant-infecting koshoviruses por Debat, Humberto Julio, Bejerman, Nicolas Esteban

    Publicado 2023
“…Structural and functional annotations of the polyproteins of all koshoviruses resulted in the detection not only of the expected helicase and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase but also of several additional divergent domains, including AlkB oxygenase, trypsin-like serine protease, methyltransferase, and envelope E1 flavi-like domains. Phylogenetic analysis showed that CopFLV1, SonFLV1, GKaV, and the carrot flavi-like virus were grouped together in a monophyletic clade, strongly supporting the recent proposal for creation of the genus “Koshovirus” for the group of related plant-infecting flavi-like viruses.…”

  8. Differential expression of IDA (INFLORESCENCE DEFICIENT IN ABSCISSION)- like genes in Nicotiana benthamiana during corolla abscission, stem growth and water stress por Ventimilla, Daniel, Domingo, Concha, González-Ibeas, Daniel, Talón, Manuel, Tadeo, Francisco R.

    Publicado 2020
“…In this work, we determined the conservation and phylogeny of the IDA-like and HAE-like gene families in relevant species of the Solanaceae family and analyzed the expression of these genes in the allopolyploid Nicotiana benthamiana, in order to identify members involved in abscission, stem growth and in the response to drought conditions. Results The phylogenetic relationships among the IDA-like members of the Solanaceae studied, grouped the two pairs of NbenIDA1 and NbenIDA2 protein homeologs with the Arabidopsis prepropeptides related to abscission. …”
