Implication of Fatty Acids and Seed Dormancy in a New Screening Procedure for Cold Tolerance in Rice
Publicado 1989“…Developing a suitable screening technique to identify appropriate genetic donors, and segregants is a requisite to the successful incorporation of cold tolerance into high yielding, semidwarf rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars. This study investigated relationships between cold tolerance and unsaturated fatty acids (USFAs); between seed dormancy and short‐chain saturated fatty acids (SCSFAs), specifically, nonanoic acid (C9); and between cold tolerance and seed dormancy in rice. …”

Potential of Inhibitors for Increasing Response of Lowland Rice to Urea Fertilization
Publicado 1988“…The full potential of biological inhibitors to increase the yield response of lowland rice (Oryza sativa L.) to urea fertilization has remained uncertain, because no chemical has been available to completely eliminate all gaseous loss of applied urea‐N. …”

Annotation and molecular characterisation of the TaIRO3 and TaHRZ iron homeostasis genes in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
Publicado 2021“…The iron-related transcription factor 3 (IRO3), as well as haemerythrin motif-containing really interesting new gene (RING) protein and zinc finger protein (HRZ), are major regulators of Fe homeostasis in diploid species like Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) and rice (Oryza sativa L.), but remain uncharacterised in hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). …”

A model to incorporate the bHLH transcription factor OsIRO3 within the rice iron homeostasis regulatory network
Publicado 2022“…The Fe homeostasis network is well characterized in Arabidopsis thaliana and remains poorly understood in monocotyledon species such as rice (Oryza sativa L.). Recent investigation of the rice Fe homeostasis network revealed OsIRO3, a basic Helix–Loop–Helix (bHLH) TF as a putative negative regulator of genes involved in Fe uptake, transport, and storage. …”

Role of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase in the adaptation of a tropical forage grass to low-phosphorus acid soils
Publicado 2006“…‘Mulato’ has adapted to acid soils with extremely low phosphorus (P) contents, its low-P-tolerance mechanisms were investigated and compared with those of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. ‘Kitaake’). Among the three plant species, the highest P-use efficiency (PUE) in low-P soil was recorded in the Brachiaria hybrid, which increased remarkably under P-deficiency and soil acidity, while P-deficiency had less effect on the PUE of wheat and rice. …”
