    Publicado 2019
“…A 24 factorial design was used to investigate the most effective data pre-treatment protocol for the cluster analysis of XRPD data from 12 African soils, each analysed once by five different personnel. Sample-independent effects of displacement error, noise and signal intensity variation were pre-treated using peak alignment, binning and scaling, respectively. …”

  5. Breaking through the 40% adoption ceiling: Mind the seed system gaps -a perspective on seed systems research for development in One CGIAR por McEwan, M., Almekinders, Conny J.M., Andrade-Piedra, J.L., Garrett, K.A., Kumar, L., Mayanja, S., Omondi, Bonaventure Aman Oduor, Rajendran, S.

    Publicado 2021
“…We argue for deeper collaboration between seed systems researchers, breeders and national seed system stakeholders to address these and other knowledge gaps and generate the evidence and innovations needed to break through the 40% adoption ceiling for modern varieties, and ensure good quality seed once the new varieties have been adopted. Without this, the achievements of breeders may remain stuck in the seed delivery pipeline.…”

  6. Scaling-out knowledge: how the pandemic helped spreading the voice for a more sustainable cattle sector por Urrea Benítez, José Luis, Burkart, Stefan

    Publicado 2021
“…The MGS mainly focused on face-to-face activites, such as meetings for information exchange or capacity building events in the field, which had to be stopped once the pandemic had started in Colombia. In order to mitigate the related negative impacts during the strict lockdown, four MGS member institutions (FAO, National University of Colombia, CATIE and Alliance Bioversity-CIAT) decided to organise a virtual seminar series on sustainable beef and dairy systems and value chains. …”

  7. Understanding heterosis, genetic effects, and genome wide associations for forage quantity and quality traits in multi-cut pearl millet por Govintharaj, P., Maheswaran, M., Blümmel, Michael, Sumathi, P., Vemula, A.K., Rathore, A., Sivasubramani, S., Kale, S.M., Varshney, Rajeev K., Gupta, S.K.

    Publicado 2021
“…A diverse panel of 105 forage-type hybrid parents (Set-III) genotyped following genotyping by sequencing (GBS) and phenotyped for crude protein (CP) and IVOMD under multi-cuts for 2 years identified one stable significant single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) on LG4 for CP, and nine SNPs for IVOMD distributed across all the linkage groups except on LG2. The identified loci, once validated, then could be used for the forage quality traits improvement in pearl millet through marker-assisted selection.…”

    Publicado 2022
“…This indicates less stress, but interpretation of the δ13C ratio is complicated by the potential carbon flux from mother to daughter plant. Once we have a full understanding of these complexities within the plant, the δ13C and leaf temperature based methods we developed, can be directly implemented for both mother and daughter plants under various field conditions.…”

    Publicado 2022
“…Based on the estimated animal-level direct economic losses and vaccination cost, it can be conjectured that vaccination will pay if a district PPR outbreak occurs more than once every 13 years. This does not account for additional benefits from vaccine-derived herd immunity reducing disease burden in the wider population. …”
