Efficiency and its determinants among smallholder farming units supplying cassava to commercial starch processors in Nigeria: data envelopment analysis approach
Publicado 2018“…Technical efficiency and its determinants were investigated among smallholder cassava-farming and decision-taking units selected from eight states of the southeast and southwest zones of Nigeria. The states’ selection was purposive, being the states in which the IITA-Nestlé cassava starch project was implemented from 2011-2015. …”

Longterm alley cropping with four hedgerow species on an Alfisol in southwestern Nigeria effect on crop performance, soil chemical properties and nematode population
Publicado 1999“…A longterm alley cropping trial was undertaken on an eroded Oxic paleustalf in the forest-savanna transition zone of southwestern Nigeria from 1981–1993. Two nitrogen fixing hedgerow species (Gliricidia sepium and Leucaena leucocephala) and two non legume hedgerow species (Alchornea cordifolia and Dactyladenia barteri) were used in the trial compared to a control (with no hedgerow) treatment. …”

Utilization of rock phosphate by crops on a representative toposequence in the northern Guinea savanna zone of Nigeria: response by Mucuna pruriens, Lablab purpureus, and maize
Publicado 2000“…The ability of Mucuna pruriens (L.) var utilis (Wright) Burck and Lablab purpureus L. to use P from RP and the changes in selected plant and symbiotic properties and in the soil available P and particulate organic matter (POM) pool as affected by the addition of RP were measured for a set of soils on a representative toposequence (‘plateau', ‘slope' and ‘valley' field) in the Northern Guinea savanna zone of Nigeria. At 18 weeks after planting (WAP), Mucuna accumulated significantly more N and P in the total biomass in the plots treated with RP compared to the plots without RP addition on all fields. …”

Variation in tuber dry matter content and starch pasting properties of white Guinea yam (Dioscorea rotundata) genotypes grown in three groecologies of Nigeria
Publicado 2021“…Variability in tuber dry matter and starch pasting properties was examined using 18 advanced breeding lines and two dominant landrace cultivars of white Guinea yam grown in three different agroecological zones (forest‒savanna transition, southern Guinea savanna, and rainforest) in Nigeria. The starch pasting properties were evaluated using a Rapid Visco Analyser. …”
