A new model formulation for host depletion in parasitoids
Publicado 2023“…We studied the behaviour of these models to understand how a variation of their parameters led to different shapes of functional response curves and statistical distributions of the number of parasitoid eggs laid per host. The results showed that the expected curves differ from those predicted by the simpler Holling's disk equation (type II functional response), random parasitoid models (no depletion), and the random predator model (proportional depletion). …”

Changes in plant responses induced by an arthropod influence the colonization behavior of a subsequent herbivore
Publicado 2021“…Although females of T. urticae showed no preference between conspecific-infested or uninfested plants, we observed a 50% reduction in the number of eggs laid on conspecific-infested plants. Both herbivorous arthropods up-regulated the expression of genes involving the jasmonic acid and abscisic acid pathways, increasing emissions of fatty-acid derivatives, but only B. tabaci increased the expression of genes related to the salicylic acid pathway and the total amount of phenylpropanoids released. …”

Host selection by Ibalia leucospoides based on temporal variations of volatiles from the hosts’ fungal symbiont
Publicado 2017“…Female parasitoids of Ibalia leucospoides use volatiles from the fungal symbiont Amylostereum areolatum of their host Sirex noctlio to find concealed host eggs and young larvae within the xylem. We hypothesize that the temporal pattern of fungal emissions may indicate not only the presence of host larvae but also be used as a cue that indicates host suitability and age. …”

Combined Soil Inoculation with Mycorrhizae and Trichoderma Alleviates Nematode-Induced Decline in Mycorrhizal Diversity
Publicado 2025“…Both single and combined inoculations significantly reduced root galls, eggs, and soil nematode larvae. An AMF community analysis via single-strand conformation polymorphism of the D1 region of 28S rDNA gene (Glomeraceae family) revealed that M. javanica decreased AMF diversity and altered community structure, in plants single-inoculated with AMF. …”
