  5. Variant antigen repertoires in Trypanosoma congolense populations and experimental infections can be profiled from deep sequence data using universal protein motifs por Silva Pereira, S., Casas-Sánchez, A., Haines, L.R., Ogugo, Moses W., Kihara, Absolomon, Sanders, M., Kemp, Stephen J., Acosta-Serrano, Á., Noyes, H., Berriman, M., Jackson, A.P.

    Publicado 2018
“…Hence, variant antigen profiling accurately and rapidly determines theT. congolense VSGgene and transcript repertoire from sequence data, without need for manual curation or highly contiguous sequences. It offers a tractable approach to measuring VSG diversity across strains and during infections, which is imperative to understanding the host–parasite interaction at population and individual scales.…”

  6. Edible Composite Coatings Formulated with Antifungal GRAS Compounds: a Novel Approach for Postharvest Preservation of Fresh Citrus Fruit por Palou, Lluís, Pérez-Gago, María B., Valencia-Chamorro, Silvia A.

    Publicado 2017
“…Coatings containing sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate, alone or mixed with sodium propionate, were the most effective in reducing the incidence and severity of both molds on fruit coated 24 h after fungal inoculation (curative activity). The antifungal activity of the coatings was fungistatic rather than fungicidal and was dependent on varietal susceptibility to Penicillium decay (higher activity on oranges than on mandarins, and on ‘Ortanique’ than on ‘Clemenules’). …”

    Publicado 2025
“…Antifungal activity against Penicillium digitatum, the causative agent of citrus green mold, one of the most economically important postharvest diseases of citrus fruits worldwide, was first assessed in vitro using microtiter plate assays. The curative activity of promising extracts was then tested in vivo on citrus fruits artificially wound inoculated, treated 24 h later with a 30 μL extract drop in the inoculation site, and incubated for 7 days at 20 °C. …”
