“…It was recognized in the discussion that ILRAD had been through a difficult period and implementation of the recommendations would need in part to await actions by the new Director General.The report starts with a summary of conclusions and recommendations, divided into sections providing an overview of ILRAD's achievements and future guidelines, research management and priorities, administration and organizational structure, and training, communication, and technology transfer.The report recommends that ILRAD continue with its efforts to control trypanosomiasis and East Coast Fever (theileriosis) by immunological or related means. …”

This paper shows how integrating remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), flood-forecasting models and communication platforms can, in near real time, alert smallholder farmers and relevant government departments about incoming floods, using the Gash basin of Sudan as an example. …”
