The global abundance of tree palms
Publicado 2020“…Being monocots, tree palms are evolutionarily, morphologically and physiologically distinct from other trees, and these differences have important consequences for ecosystem services (e.g., carbon sequestration and storage) and in terms of responses to climate change. We quantified global patterns of tree palm relative abundance to help improve understanding of tropical forests and reduce uncertainty about these ecosystems under climate change.Tropical and subtropical moist forests.Current.Palms (Arecaceae). We assembled a pantropical dataset of 2,548 forest plots (covering 1,191 ha) and quantified tree palm (i.e., ≥10 cm diameter at breast height) abundance relative to co‐occurring non‐palm trees. …”

Mechanized direct- seeding and best management practices for rice in Cambodia : how and why are they complementary?
Publicado 2024“…As a top 10 global rice exporter (Tilleard et al., 2023), Cambodia seeks to enhance its role in regional and global food security amid challenges like climate change and rising input costs. National strategies, including the Sustainable Development Goals (2016–2030) and the National Agricultural Development Policy (2023–2030), highlight the need for sustainable production and trade. …”

The Lancet One Health Commission: harnessing our interconnectedness for equitable, sustainable, and healthy socioecological systems
Publicado 2025“…These threats include emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), jeopardised food safety and security, freshwater scarcity, climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. These pressing health and sustainability challenges exceed the scope of any single discipline, government ministry, or societal sector, underscoring the need for interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and multisectoral collaboration, as well as for a socioecologically oriented systems perspective that appreciates the fundamental interconnections between humans, other animals, and the wider ecosystem. …”

Natural forests loss and tree plantations: Large - scale tree cover loss differentation in a threatened dioviversity hotspot.
Publicado 2023“…Tree planting as a solution has gained increased attention in recen years with ambitious commitments to mitigate the effects of climate change. However, negative outcomes for the environment could result if strategies incentivize the replacement of natural forests into other land covers. …”

Toward sustainable environmental quality: Identifying priority research questions for Latin America
Publicado 2018“…These research questions included developing, improving, and harmonizing across LA countries methods for 1) identifying contaminants and degradation products in complex matrices (including biota); 2) advancing prediction of contaminant risks and effects in ecosystems, addressing lab‐to‐field extrapolation challenges, and understanding complexities of multiple stressors (including chemicals and climate change); and 3) improving management and regulatory tools toward achieving sustainable development. …”

Microbiome in soils of Mendoza: microbial resources for the development of agroecological management in viticulture
Publicado 2025“…Consequently, a great focus is being made on soil microorganisms since they are considered a promising source for crop resilience improvements under a global climate change scenario. To explore bacterial and fungal communities from arid soils in vineyards and their surroundings from two regions with very different climate and tillage histories, an amplicon sequencing analysis was performed. …”

Yield benefit and ecophysiological processes behind the introgression of HaHB4 in a modern wheat in the Argentine Pampas
Publicado 2026“…Context or problem: Breeding for improved tolerance to water deficit is critical to mitigate the climate change impact on wheat yield. In 2020, Argentina approved the first wheat transformed with the sunflower HaHB4 gene (INDØØ412–7), which increased yield by 16 % compared to the non-transformed Cadenza under drought conditions. …”
