Implications of increased urbanization and consumer awareness on future food supplies in Tanzania
Publicado 2025“…This not only requires that total annual food supplies increase from 24 million tons to 52 million tons (under ELRD) or 62 million tons (under HMAD), but certainly also that its composition change dramatically: vegetables by roughly 3 times of current supply; oils by 4 times; fruits by 5 times; dairy by 8 times; eggs by 10 times (under ELRD) and 37 times (under HMAD), and meat and fish by 4 and 8 times (under HMAD), respectively. …”

Tier-2 methane emission factor for pregnant alpacas grazing cultivated pastures in the Peruvian Andes
Publicado 2025“…Enteric Tier-2 EFs were computed from the GE intake (GEI) and the CH4 conversion factors (CH4/GEI; Ym, %), both obtained in this study, according to guidelines in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Data were analyzed using a repeated measures model, with alpaca variety and experimental period as fixed effects, and alpaca within variety as random. …”

Mixed-methods gender analysis country report, Ghana: Building equitable climate resilient African bean and insect sectors
Publicado 2025“…Agriculture remains a crucial sector for food security, economic development, and climate resilience in Africa. However, climate change-induced challenges such as unpredictable weather patterns, prolonged droughts, declining soil fertility, and limited access to climate-smart agricultural (CSA) technologies continue to hinder smallholder farmers' productivity, particularly women and youth. …”

Performance of sheep fed soybean stover and cassava crumb based diets
Publicado 1999“…A digestibility study was conducted with West African Dwarf (WAD) sheep offered four varieties of soybean stovers (SBS) basal diets, TGx 1019-2EN (SBS1), TGx 1448-2E (SBS2), TGx 1660-19F (SBS3) and TGx 932-2E (SBS4) and a growth study with WAD sheep offered three varieties of soybean stovers SBS1, SBS2 and SBS3 incorporated into three diets such that the roughage source in the diet was a 50:50 mixture of stover and hay supplemented with 15 percent cassava crumb to investigate feed intake, digestibility and body weight change. In Experiment 1, similar (p>0.05) mean voluntary dry matter intake (VDMI) (37.32 (+ or -) 2.19 g kg-1 BW 0.75 day -1) observed for sheep fed SBS1, SBS2 and SBS3 was higher (p<0.05) than 31.59 (+ or -) 2.19 g kg -1 BW0.75 day -1 of SBS4. …”

Brazilian underutilised species to promote dietary diversity, local food procurement, and biodiversity conservation: a food composition gap analysis
Publicado 2018“…Much of the neglected native biodiversity is highly nutritious and exploring these food sources could help provide sustainable solutions to diversifying diets, tackling malnutrition problems, and promoting agricultural development through local food procurement, while also promoting biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and resilience. However, notable knowledge and evidence gaps still need to be addressed to better integrate biodiversity for enhancing food and nutrition security, including scientific data on the nutritional value and composition of native underutilised species. …”
