  3. Agricultural Water Management Technology Expansion and Impact on Crop Yields in Northern Burkina Faso (1980-2010): A Review por Morris, Joanne, Barron, Jennie

    Publicado 2014
“…This study synthesizes evidence, at the sub-national scale of region, across northern Burkina Faso, of adoption rates of AWM interventions compared with indicators of impact on livelihoods in the form of yield changes, poverty indices and food security. Using several independent sources (national statistics and independent reports and peer papers), the study has found multiple pieces of evidence that since the 1990s provincial adoption rates have been a minimum of 10-20% in provinces with >700 mm of rainfall and up to 40% in several other provinces. …”

  4. Phosphate rock utilization by soybean genotypes on a low-P savanna soil and the status of soil P fractions after a subsequent maize crop por Nwoke, O.C., Okogun, J.A., Sanginga, Nteranya, Diels, J., Abaidoo, Robert C., Osonubi, O.

    Publicado 2009
“…Thirteen promiscuous soybean genotypes were evaluated in a low-P soil at Fashola in the derived savanna of Nigeria to compare their ability to acquire and utilize P from phosphate rock (PR) and single superphosphate (SSP). Changes in soil P fractions after a subsequent maize crop were also assessed. …”

  6. A framework for analyzing participatory plant breeding approaches and results por Sperling, L., Ashby, Jacqueline A., Smith, M.E., Weltzien, Eva, McGrath, S.

    Publicado 2001
“…While some have argued that commercial, private sector plant breeding has long been client-driven, or `participatory' under another name, the application of `PPB' to reach poor client groups, to breed for high-stress, heterogeneous environments and to incorporate diverse traits to meet specific client preferences is resulting in fundamental changes in the way plant genetic resources are being managed. …”
