Improving water productivity in mixed crop-livestock farming systems of sub-Saharan Africa
Publicado 2010“…In sub-Saharan Africa problems associated with water scarcity are aggravated by increasing demands for food and water, climate change and environmental degradation. Livestock keeping, an important livelihood strategy for smallholder farmers in Africa, is a major consumer of water, and its water consumption is increasing with increasing demands for livestock products. …”

A two-dimensional outcome pathway model for research for development (R4D) programs
Publicado 2011“…To successfully meet the program goal, a project’s outcome pathway must be designed in such a way that makes the project theories of change explicit. The project must make explicit the cause and effect logic, by which its research will help achieve developmental outcomes. …”

Assessment of local land and water institutions in the Blue Nile and their impact on environmental management
Publicado 2009“…We highlighted major institutional and policy gaps and actions that are required to respond to emerging issues of environmental degradation, upstream/downstream linkages and climate change. Such analysis of institutions and their design features provides useful insights and contributes to the debate on institutional reform for improved land and water management in the Blue Nile Basin, in general. …”

Improvement in water-holding capacity and structural stability of a sandy soil in northeast Thailand
Publicado 2007“…In the present study, physical properties associated with water holding capacity and soil structural stability of an upland soil of the Satuk series in Northeast Thailand were investigated two years after the application of these amendments. Although changes in silt and clay fraction were small, the application of these amendments enhanced porosity and altered the pore size distribution resulting in an increase in the available water content for crop growth. …”
