Impacts of precipitation and temperature on crop yields in the Pampas
Published 2017“…We here used panel models to estimate the contribution of growing season precipitation (P), average temperature (T) and diurnal temperature range (DTR) on wheat, maize and soy yield and yield trends between 1971 and 2012 from 33 counties of the Argentine Pampas. A parallel analysis was conducted on a per county basis by adjusting a linear model to the first difference (i.e., subtracting from each value the previous year value) in yield and first difference in weather variables to estimate crop sensitivity to interannual changes in P, T, and DTR. …”

Lethal effect of Goniozus legneri on Cactoblastis cactorum: A potential biocontrol agent for inundative releases
Published 2024“…Mortality of C. cactorum by G. legneri was assessed at different spatial scales, as well as the interactions with Apanteles opuntiarum Martínez & Berta (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), a common Argentine natural enemy of C. cactorum. The ability of G. legneri to paralyse, parasitise and kill C. cactorum was confirmed. …”

Soil nitrous oxide emissions in a maize (Zea mays L.) crop in response to nitrogen fertilisation
Published 2024“…This study sought to quantify N2Oemissions generated from soil and the residual nitrate (NO3−) up to 2 m depth in field conditions in amaize crop under supplementary irrigation and fertilised with two nitrogen (N) sources (UAN andurea) at increasing N rates (0, 80, 160 and 250 kg N ha−1) in the Semi-arid Argentine Pampas.Methods. Throughout the crop cycle, emissions were monitored daily with static chambersduring the first week after fertilisation; then sampling frequency was gradually reduced until theend of the experiment. …”

When african and european lineages meet: The genetic landscape of honey bees in Argentina
Published 2025“…In this study, we provide a more in-depth analysis of Argentine honeybee populations using recently published data from a panel of 272 SNP markers across five ecoregions to: (1) quantify how ancestry proportion (African A, European C/M) varies along geographic gradients, (2) assess whether ecoregion boundaries influence population structure, and (3) evaluate the potential trade-offs between AHB and EHB ancestry in hybrid genomes. …”
