  1. The evolution of the timber sector in lowland Bolivia: examining the influence of three disparate policy approaches por Pacheco, P., Jong, W. de, Johnson, J.

    Publicado 2010
“…From the mid-1990s, innovative policies were implemented to promote sustainable forest management, enhance the collection of forest royalties, improve the sector access to international timber markets, and include a wide range of social actors in the forest sector. While the adopted policy led to initial improvements in forest management practices, it failed to tackle inherent institutional weaknesses and increase the economic benefits from forest use to local forest users, which stimulated informal logging expansion. …”

  2. Anthro-apology? negotiating space for interdisciplinary collaboration and in-depth anthropology in the CGIAR por Verma, R., Russell, D., German, L.

    Publicado 2010

The overarching goal for anthropologists and sociocultural scientists is to integrate theories, methodologies, and practices of the study of culture, politics, and social relations into agricultural and natural resource management research, as well as to integrate themselves into larger interdisciplinary teams on an equal footing. …”

  9. National adaptation policy adopted in Nicaragua and resulting investments in coffee and cocoa sector por CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security

    Publicado 2014
“…CIAT’s research showed that coffee production is highly sensitive to climate change and that by 2050 coffee growing areas will move approximately 300 meters up the altitudinal gradient and push farmers at lower altitudes out of coffee production, increase pressure on forests and natural resources in higher altitudes and jeopardize the actors along the coffee supply chain. For cocoa the picture is not as dramatic as coffee but shifts in production areas are also likely to happen by 2050. …”
