  2. Effects of pearling on proximate composition, dough rheology, bread-making quality and health-promoting components of elite wheat cultivars por Wenfei Tian, Lei Zhi, Tiantian Chen, Xue Gong, Yan Zhang, Zhonghu He

    Publicado 2024
“…In this study, we investigated impacts of two grain pearling (debranning) levels on proximate composition, dough rheological properties, food-making quality, arabinoxylans (AXs), alkylresorcinols (ARs) and phenolic acids composition of two elite bread wheat cultivars. Pearled flour (PF) of Zhongmai 175 retained very good dough extensibility (190.7–195.5 mm), while PF of Zhongmai 578 retained medium-to-strong gluten strength and acceptable bread-making quality. …”

  3. Unraveling the genetic basis of general combining ability in CIMMYT elite bread wheat germplasm: implications for breeding strategies optimization por Saavedra-Avila, José Ignacio, Gerard, Guillermo Sebastián, Esposito, Salvatore, Velu, Govindan, Huerta-Espino, Julio, Tarekegn, Zerihun Tadesse, Dreisigacker, Susanne, Saint Pierre, Carolina, Pacheco Gil, Rosa Angela, Toledo, Fernando Henrique, Gardner, Keith, Crespo Herrera, Leonardo Abdiel, Crossa, Jose, Vitale, Paolo

    Publicado 2025
“…For this reason, we tested the performance of the offspring of similar to 1200 parental elite lines. Using a genome-wide association study (GWAS), gene ontology (GO) analysis, and genomic prediction (GP), our objectives were to i) identify marker-trait associates (MTAs) and candidate genes, ii) assess temporal allele frequency dynamics of identified MTAs, and iii) estimate prediction accuracy (PA) for key traits: Progeny Number per-Cross (PNC), grain yield (GY), and a combined index incorporating these traits ("index"). …”

  5. Evidence for genotypic differences among elite lines of common bean in the ability to remobilize photosynthate to increase yield under drought por Rao, Idupulapati M., Beebe, Stephen E., Polanía Perdomo, José A., Grajales Bedoya, Miguel Angel, Cajiao V., César Hernando, Ricaurte Oyola, José Jaumer

    Publicado 2017
“…A set of 36 genotypes, including 33 common bean, two wild bean and one cowpea were evaluated using a 6 × 6 lattice design under irrigated and rainfed field conditions. Three common bean elite lines (NCB 226, SEN 56, SER 125) were identified with superior levels of adaptation to both intermittent and terminal drought stress conditions. …”

    Publicado 2023
“…To protect African rice production against this emerging threat, we developed a hybrid CRISPR-Cas9/Cpf1 system to edit all known TALe-binding elements in three SWEET promoters of the East African elite variety Komboka. The edited lines show broad-spectrum resistance against Asian and African strains of Xoo, including strains recently discovered in Tanzania. …”
