Comparative genome analysis of three eukaryotic parasites with differing abilities to transform leukocytes reveals key mediators of Theileria-induced leukocyte transformation
Publicado 2012“…Identification of differences between the genome sequences of Theileria species with different abilities to transform and immortalize bovine leukocytes will provide insight into proteins and mechanisms that have evolved to induce and regulate this process. …”

Theileria-transformed bovine leukocytes have cancer hallmarks
Publicado 2015“…Some species, including Theileria parva and Theileria annulata, infect leukocytes where they induce phenotypes that are shared with some cancers, most notably immortalization, hyperproliferation, and dissemination. …”

Investigation into the metabolic effect of sarcosine on prostate cancer
Publicado 2018“…We set out to examine the effect of treatment with sarcosine, glycine, N,N-dimethylglycine and alanine on the metabolism of cultured prostate cancer cells and non-malignant immortalized prostate cells. Here we demonstrate that sarcosine changes the metabolism of prostate cancer cells and that broad cellular functions, such as energy metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism and amino acid metabolism are affected. …”

Study of the dynamics of in vitro infection with bovine gammaherpesvirus type 4 and apoptosis markers in susceptible cells
Publicado 2022“…Despite having anti-apoptotic genes in its genome, experiments based on immortalized cell lines have shown that BoHV-4 induces cell death by apoptosis. …”
